This Kantha vintage rug is made from recycled cotton saris in colourful, traditional prints. Each rug is a unique piece of craftsmanship with its own history and character – no two rugs are alike.

Traditional Kantha embroidery

The rugs consist of several layers of sari fabric sewn together using the traditional Kantha embroidery technique, where small, running stitches create a beautiful pattern and a lovely, dense quality. The rugs are different on both sides, giving you two looks in one rug. The thickness varies depending on how many layers of fabric are used, but all rugs have the characteristic soft and comfortable feel that the Kantha technique creates.
