Kantha and block print

Kantha is a form of embroidery that is widespread in West Bengal in India Kantha is still the most popular form of embroidery among women in rural areas of Bengal and the traditional form of kantha embroidery is done with single stitches where the seamstress sews rows of tiny stitches from end to end

Block printing a handwork tradition typically practiced in the Chhipa community of Bagru in the state of Rajasthan also in India - the process of block printing starts with hand cutting blocks of wood, preferably rosewood because of its durability, and they are cut into patterns and designs and then dipped in dye and are stamped on long pieces of cotton fabric.
