This cushion combines two authentic Indian craft traditions: azrak block printing and kantha stitching. Azrak printing is a traditional form of hand-block printing, typically featuring geometric and floral patterns in deep, natural dyes – primarily blue, red, and black. The technique originates from the Sindh region in Pakistan and the Kutch region in India, and is characterized by a labor-intensive process that can involve 14-16 steps over several weeks.
